Summer programming may look a little different this year, but the Indian River County Library System is committed to encouraging kids and teens to engage and keep reading this summer. The 2020 Summer Program will kick-off with the distribution of Summer Reading Incentive Packets on Monday, June 8th.

Your friendly neighborhood Spiderman will be assisting the Children’s department staff in handing out the bags at the IRC Main Library from 9:00am to 12:00pm, and from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the North IRC Library. The packets will be available for pick-up after the 8th, as supplies last. These packets encourage children to read in two ways. Kids can take the 1,000 minute challenge by placing a sticker on their Reading Log for every 20 minutes they read. When it is completed, they can turn their Reading Log in for a prize, as well as for a coupon for a free 3-D printed item of their choosing. A reading-themed Bingo card is also included in the packet. Kids can complete a row and earn a prize and be entered into a drawing for a gift card provided by the Friends of the Indian River County Library.
